Troy and Seamus are 2 dads who want to explore the different perspectives on parenting from the perspective of the father. They will be discussing various topics as well as interviewing all kinds of dads.
Joining the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity as a sophomore at the University of Tennessee was once of the most unplanned and yet fortunate events of Troy’s life. Seamus’ affiliation with Beta Theta Pi would fall into the same category. Understandably, Fraternity life in the 1990s and early 2000s was much different that what we see in 2019 and beyond.
Our guest today is the National President of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, Brother David Moyer. David discusses his days in the Phi Psi Chapter at the University of Alabama as well as raising three sons currently in their teens and 20s. He also talks about how parent involvement has increased in the Fraternity recruitment process in an era with an increased focus on student safety and post-graduate networking.
Becoming a dad can be easy…probably too easy for some. But there also is a surprisingly large sector of families for which becoming pregnant is an incredible challenge. In this episode we sit down with Danny Palmer, a San Antonio dad of three. Danny shares the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) journey that he and and his wife Lisa endured while growing their family from three to five.
Now what happens when you’re a dad and you have that bad day right in front of your kids?
Listen to the latest episode of the Your Dads Podcast to find out exactly how things went down when Troy recently had a VERY bad (and VERY expensive) day. The children’s book referenced in the episode is available here: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst.

We took a little summer hiatus, so don’t hate us but now we’re back in full swing ready to take on the world. In today’s episode we welcome back our long time friend, Seamus Nelson. We cover a huge variety of topics, some of which are:
Are you an inventor who’s a dad or are you a dad who happened to have invented something?
That’s one of the questions we dive deep into on our interview with Instagram superstar Sean Robinson aka @seanrobsworld. Sean’s living the dream life as a middle school gym teacher in sunny Florida with his wife and daughter. Don’t fear. No polyester gym shorts or knee-high tube socks were harmed in the recording of this podcast.
Sean’s always had an inventor mindset so he discusses what it’s been like to develop and launch the Baby Bumpers Lounger over the past two years. You can buy the BBL and all kinds of other cute and hilarious kid stuff at TheParentingStore.com. Make sure to tell them “Your Dads” sent ya…it’s not going to get you anything but it’s always worth a try!
Today we sit down with attorney Jack Hawthorne who coins a new favorite term of mine: “ethically flexible”.
Jack is an attorney, business coach, dad of Henry, husband of Carly, keto enthusiast, and (since the recording of this episode) found out that Baby Hawthorne 2.0 will be another boy! Listen in as Jack discusses how he and his wife argue every day, on purpose…and get paid for it.
